Community Outreach
We feel it is the privilege of every Christian to minister to the community around them. Children especially enjoy sharing their gifts with others. Below are the outreach activities we currently participate in.
The Atria. Our students visit The Atria, a senior living community in Kennbunk, on a monthly basis to spend time with the residents. The students often sing songs and play music for the residents, recite poetry and scripture, and leave them with gifts to remember us by. The students enjoy chatting with each of the residents and look forward to their visits.
Operation Christmas Child. Just before the holidays, students are delighted to gather toys, art supplies, and personal items for a needy child in another country that they do not know. Items are gathered into student-wrapped shoe boxes and sent to children around the globe through Samaritan’s Purse. In December of 2008, we contributed over 25 shoe boxes to this worthwhile cause.
Local Food Pantries. In November of each year, students collect non-perishable food items to bless families at Thanksgiving time. In 2008, we collected and delivered over 150 items to the York County Shelter program in Alfred, Maine.
